This is an effort to bring the heritage of Indian Scriptures to the Internet. The
project attempts to harness modern technology to make one of the most ancient sources
of wisdom in the world accessible to the contemporary reader. On this supersite, you
can view the entire Bhagavadgita in its original language (Sanskrit) and script
( Devanagari, which is also the script for Hindi and Marathi). The text can also be
read in the script of any of the other Indian languages (Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati,
Kannada, Malayalam, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil,Telegu), or in Roman (English script). The
supersite also contains many Classical and Contemporary Commentaries on the Bhagavadgita,
together with translations in Hindi and English, and many more texts are on the anvil.

Text Options
This is the main point of entry for using this supersite. All the available texts are listed here. These texts include: the original verses (or slokas) of the Bhagavadgita, multiple translations of these slokas in Hindi and English, classical Sanskrit commentaries on the Bhagavadgita, Hindi and English translations of these commentaries, and contemporary commentaries on the Bhagavadgita in Hindi and English. You can choose the combination of texts you wish to use and Proceed.
2-Book View
This feature enables you to simultaneously open two copies of the Bhagavadgita, each copy displaying the texts of your choice. The 2-Book View is especially useful for Comparative studies; for example, you could compare the slokas [verses] of, say, Chapter 2 with the slokas of Chapter 18; or you could compare Sri Sankaracarya's commentary (in original Sanskrit or in English/Hindi translation) with another classical or contemporary commentary.
Multilingual Bhagavadgita
This supersite allows you to view the Sanskrit slokas [verses] of the Bhagavadgita in 11 language scripts: Assamese, Bengali, Devanagari, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Oriya, Punjabi, Roman, Tamil and Telegu. To use this facility, you will need to install the Indian language fonts. When viewing the texts you have selected, choose the desired script from the pop-up/drop-down list of available scripts in the Navigation Window at the bottom of the page; the slokas [verses] of the Bhagavadgita will be phonetically transliterated into the script of your choice. The transliteration is not yet perfect, especially for those languages where spellings are not phonetic and words are constructed in ways that are unique to that language. We welcome suggestions/corrections to the multilingual version. If you would like to volunteer to proof-read any of the Indian language texts, please contact us.
Search
The Search facility on this supersite enables you to search for the occurrence of any word in the original text of the Bhagavadgita. Right now this facility is available only for the Devanagari script.
